Caring for your Jewelry
All of holyland necklace jewelry is made from the highest quality metals
available. Regardless if your item is made of gold or silver, caring for your
item is important to preserve it for many years to come. Here are a few ways to
help you keep your item as beautiful as it was from the day you purchased
it.
Avoid
The daily personal hygiene products a person uses can affect
your jewelry. Avoid contact of your item from things such as perfume, cologne,
hairspray, cosmetics, deodorants or lotion. These items can buildup on your
item overtime and dull or damage your fine item.
While cleaning you should always remove your jewelry to avoid
the overspray of harsh chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, widow cleaner etc.
Water
Regular tap water is not a concern. Swimming pools with
chlorine or showering with body soaps and shampoos can be. We recommend
removing your item when doing the above.
Storing
Avoid storing your item with other jewelry were it can rub
against other metals to avoid scratches or dings.
Maintenance
Storing
When not in use, we recommend storing your item is the box
you received it in or in a jewelry box that has a cloth lining.
Cleaning
Cleaning your item is simple. Just add few drops or regular
household dish detergent and warm water in a small bowl. Then, using a soft
head toothbrush, gently rub in a circular motion while soaking item is in the
soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry with a soft cotton
cloth. This is an excellent way to
remove any body sweat, oils or chemicals from your items either before storing
your item or once every week while wearing it.
Polishing
Metals are actually soft and precious. Polishing your item is
recommended every 3-4 months. You can purchase a quality gold, silver or platinum
polish at most jewelry retailers. It’s a small investment to keep your item as
beautiful as it was from the day it was created for you.

SPECIAL CARE FOR GOLD AND SILVER PERSONALIZED JEWELRY
All jewelry can eventually tarnish, but your best defense is
to be vigilant and properly care for your items. At MyNameNecklace, we
recommend that you give your gold or silver jewelry a quick clean at the end of
the day, using a soft cleaning cloth, to remove any fingerprints or oils that
may have accumulated from normal wear. And once a week, we recommend a more
deep clean — use a simply mix of 1/2 cup warm water with a few squirts of mild
liquid soap, and let your jewelry soak for three minutes. Then remove your items,
rinse with clean water, and allow the jewelry to dry. That’s it!
Sterling silver jewelry deserves extra special care, so for
these precious items we recommend a silver polish. You can purchase a quality
silver cream at most jewelry stores, drug stores and even supermarkets.
Your personalized jewelry commemorates your most special
moments in life, so treat it with care and it will last you a lifetime.
